Why we call COVID-19 the "CCP virus"

There’s been controversy about what the virus that’s unleashed a worldwide pandemic should be called. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) prefers “novel coronavirus.” Others have referred to it as the “Wuhan virus.”
 
We have chosen to follow the lead taken by some media and other organizations and call it the “CCP virus.” The name holds the CCP accountable for its cover up and disregard for human life.
 
We feel the “CCP virus” is an accurate name, and invite you to consider using it, too.
