The Beauty of Compassion Jewelry Collection was created to honor this timeless virtue.
Design Inspiration: The Power of Compassion Dance
The collection draws its inspiration from The Power of Compassion, a dance drama performed by Shen Yun Performing Arts in 2015.
The story follows a Falun Dafa practitioner who, while fleeing persecution, is pursued by a ruthless communist policeman. During the chase, the policeman falls and breaks his leg. Instead of taking advantage of the moment or fleeing, the practitioner—despite being beaten and cursed—lifts the injured man onto his back, brings him to safety, and teaches him Falun Dafa to help restore his body and mind.
Deeply moved by this act of boundless compassion, the policeman experiences a profound transformation. Through meditation, he witnesses the splendor of the heavenly realms and the presence of divine beings. In the end, he removes his uniform, gives up his old ways, and becomes a new man.
The dance is based on real life situations where Falun Dafa practitioners are jailed and treat their jailors so compassionately that the jailors have a profound change of heart. The dance and real stories demonstrate compassion’s ability to open up a new way forward.
The silhouettes of the Beauty of Compassion Collection are inspired by the imagery of Buddhas portrayed in Shen Yun’s dance repertoire. The designs symbolize a sacred being seated serenely upon a lotus throne, bathed in radiant light. This imagery reflects the exalted state of one whose heart abides in compassion.
Amethyst, long revered as a symbol of spirituality and wisdom, is paired with topaz, which represents purity and light. Together, they lend the designs a tranquil, luminous, and sacred presence.
